Module 3: Introducing the VFP Curriculum

Box of postcards.

Upon completion of module 3, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the structure and content of the VFP curriculum for active-duty military and veterans. (CO 3)

  2. Discuss outreach strategies using the VFP curriculum. (CO 3)

As noted earlier, the VFP designed a curriculum to provide active-duty military members and veterans with the tools needed to manage their personal military records. Like the curriculum you are completing, the military curriculum is divided into four modules, each requiring between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete. The online version of the curriculum is self-paced with integrated videos, interactive activities, and handouts.

While the material can be completed entirely online, we also prepared a set of files for archivists, museum educators, or librarians interested in hosting in-person or synchronous online workshops. The downloadable files include each module's PowerPoint deck, links to online videos, handouts, worksheets, and assessment tools. Please use these as a starting point, and feel free to customize them as needed for your particular audience. If you plan on hosting a workshop, please contact us at vfp@lsu.edu so we can provide additional assistance.
