Our project builds on the original award-winning Virtual Footlocker Project and is dedicated to helping Vietnam-era veterans preserve their personal military records, including letters, photographs, and mementos that tell the story of their service. These records are important for preserving family legacy and historical memory and may also help veterans secure VA benefits and access care, especially when official records are incomplete or missing.

We are currently recruiting Vietnam-era veterans, their family members, and caregivers for online interviews about personal military records and experiences with the VA. Insights shared during these interviews will directly shape the development of a national program model to better support Vietnam-era veterans in documenting and preserving their histories.
